Armed with degrees in political science and international affairs from Columbia, Sara worked for UNICEF and the United Nations. She is the granddaughter of Irwin Jacobs, the founder of the telecommunications giant Qualcomm. Sara’s 2021 was heavily focused on helping children and families through various bills, including a proposed permanent extension of the child tax credit.
After serving in various policy positions in the U.S. State Department during the Obama administration, Sara went on to work as a policy advisor for the 2016 Clinton campaign. She is also the founder and Chair of San Diego for Every Child: The Coalition to End Child Poverty.
