Who are they?

A lifelong girl scout and graduate of nursing school, Lauren is the first woman, person of color, and millennial to represent her community and the youngest black woman to serve in Congress. Putting her healthcare background to work, Lauren’s 2021 was all about healthcare as she introduced her Momnibus package to address minority women’s health and passed the first part of it into law.

Pre-Congress?

After earning her nursing degree, Lauren pursued a career in healthcare policy in the Obama administration and later as an advisor at the Department of Health and Human Services. She was also a Senior Director at a healthcare company and an adjunct instructor at Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies.
