Who is she?

Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari is a Democrat representing Arizona’s 3rd district, which includes a large portion of the downtown Phoenix area. Born in Seattle, WA, Yassamin was raised in Arizona by her Iranian parents, making her the first Iranian-American elected to office in Arizona. Armed with degrees from Stanford University and the University of Cambridge, she is a vocal advocate for progressive policies.
