Hillary ran against former Rep. Peter Meijer in 2020, but lost. However, after Meijer lost the GOP primary to a more far-right candidate, Hilary won in 2022 to represent the newly drawn 3rd district. She’s an attorney who served in the U.S. Department of Justice.
A former judicial law clerk and attorney advisor for the Board of Immigration Appeals, Hilary moved back to Michigan after the end of the Obama administration. She became a staff attorney for the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center and served as a volunteer for the Times Up Legal Defense Fund which provided legal services to women facing sexual harassment.
